David Haynes (5-9, 175, 4.4) is a very athletic QB/CB at McGregor (Texas) High School. In 2002, Haynes earned all-district honors as a quarterback during his junior season.

Choices: Arkansas, Oklahoma, SMU, Texas A&M, Tulsa

Seems like a lot of small athletes have been recruited in the past couple of years. Shouldn't we focus more on adding size across the board?

Then again, speed kills....

At that size you had better be damn fast...those D-1 DE's will be all over you while you try to see over your o-line to find your receivers.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

At 5-9, there's no way D-I coaches are recruiting him as a QB. He's headed to RB, slot receiver or CB at the next level.

Don't be fooled by his size or his small school - Haynes is an electrifying athlete with the versatility to play any of a number of positions.
