4 TD passes as a QB (on only 5 passing attempts) but 4 fumbles(0 Ints)-which is probably why SMU is recruiting him as a Safety. Really like watching this kid's Free Safety video-I would expect him to challenge for immediate playing time at SMU next year.

James Scott threw or passed for 7 TDs in a Strake Jesuit Rout. Pretty good for a Defensive recruit. Actually one of those TDs might have come on a defensive fumble recovery-not clear.

Strake Jesuit a private school finished their 5A District play undefeated at 7-0, 8-1 on the season behind James Scott's 9 for 19 passing for 82 yards and a 18 yard TD pass. Scott added another 119 yards rushing on 17 carries including a 5 yard TD run in a 21-13 victory over Stratford.

While QB Vince Young continues to watch from the bench as the Titans win behind veteran Kerry Collins, Young can at least take some pride in the performances of his alma maters. The University of Texas, despite its loss in the thriller against Texas Tech, has both BCS bowl and title hopes alive. And Houston Madison, where the Vince Young legend was born earlier this decade, is poised to make it to at least the third round for the first time since 2001, when a Young-led Madison team went to the state semifinals. But to get there, Madison must beat arguably the Houston area's biggest surprise team.
While our magazine picked Strake Jesuit to make the playoffs, it didn't predict an outright district title, nor did it foresee the excellent season by James Scott, a converted safety playing QB this year. Scott leads the team in rushing (438 yards, 5 TDs), but his passing statistics are pretty good for a guy who spent 2007 defending the pass. Completing 60 percent of his attempts, Scott has thrown for 1,440 yards with an amazing 21 TDs and just 3 INTs. Big-play receivers Kellan Belanger and Klein Kubiak (combined 868 yards, 16 TDs) get most of Scott's attention. And Madison certainly will focus on Scott and those receivers as well. How well Madison defends them will determine if Madison can take the next step.

Strake Jesuit was eliminated by Houston Madison 35-23 despite a nice game by James Scott. Scott was 20 of 37 for 207 yards a TD pass of 10 yards, 1 Int. Scott also rushed 64 yards on 15 carries and 2 TDs running of 1 and 3 yards. Caught a video of Scott last nite most in passing situations but it did have one play which showed his acceleration and speed. The thing I think SMU fans will love about Scott at Safety is that he is a big strong, solid kid not our typical Mighty-Mites. He just looks like a Division 1A Safety and appears to have the physical skills to raise to the next level. Hopefully Banjo/Scott will become fixtures at Safety solving that problem
