Wasn't Bennett's plan to recruit DFW and Texas in part to take advantage of his HS connections AND as a economy measure?

I'd like to see SMU recruit nationally again, or at least legacies (Weatherford!) who live outside Texas, but it is going to takes some good showings over several seasons before many top players come to Dallas.

Didn't I hear something about how the local DFW AAU coach is involved with one shoe company, and only steers players to teams that wear his shoes. Dement doesn't play that game as I understand it.
