Michael Cobbins- 4 star PF

Last year I mentioned Cobbins listing us as a school of interest.
We dropped off of his list for about 8 months and just recently have shown back up on the radar for this 4 star PF out of Amarillo.
Wonder if the 2 new additions to the coaching staff had anything to do with this. Also, you got to check out the story below & the reference to SMU recruiting him.

Our chances might improve if our coach is doing a little more than slipping the kid a biz card :?

U may be right about the Lobos. His coach has a history with Indiana & u can't rule out Tech. The kid is getting national pub. Its good to see us mentioned.

And how many fans is he going to bring from Amarillo, probably very few, why would we want him?

The great Palo Duro High School had a starter each for Texas & OU this year in basketball and a starter on Mizzou's d-line who was drafted in the first round (Ziggie Hood)

Did this improve our chances?

right now, Memphis is waaay out front for Cobbins. UVA is in the running as well

I've read some things about Memphis being in the lead before he was injured.
My thinking is maybe some teams back off & it improves our chances.
I hope the kid rebounds from his injury & comes back good as new.
Sounds like one heck of a prospect.

He's not supposed to miss the high school season,I don't believe, so I wouldn't expect to see anyone drop out b/c of his knee. If he makes it till Spring, he'll be even more of a commodity. We probably stood a better chance had he not blown up in camps, and on the circuit, prior to getting hurt.

My source says Cobbins is a great kid, very talented and has a knee that's not going to last long which I hope isn't the case

After the injury I thought some schools might back off giving us a shot.
Not so. Good news we are still in the hunt for several very good prospects.

You are far more optimistic than most of us. Doh needs to put at least one good signature on the dotted line on the early November signing date or our prospects for prospects diminish even further.
