Recruiting Traction from Bowl Bound Mustangs?

Postby OC Mustang » Sun Nov 29, 2009 12:58 am

Does anybody know whether we are getting any? Traction, that is...
Are recruits commenting on it at all? I mean, Jones' staff recruited most of these guys during the summer or spring. They are obviously sticking around, but can we gauge yet how this season has affected recruiting?

We are pretty well full for 2010 but are waiting on a few guys.

There were a ton of recruits at the game, most of which were 2011 guys. Getting a jump on recruiting for the next year will be huge. UT for example typically fills up half their class with verbal commitments just days after officially signing the previous class.

I would think we would also find room for top-notch JUCO's if available.

With all the criticizing you do of these players, I wonder how much football you played? You sound a little hhhmmm jealous.

How is saying we could use some JUCO's or other quality players criticism? To say that we are completely ok with the players we have and that we cannot use additional talent at a position is criticism? Seriously, get real. We have a good core of young players, yes. But to say that we cannot use or need additional talent is complete nonsense! There is not a team out there in any collegiate sport that is not looking for talent. The best player plays. Has always been that way, and always will.

After reading this thread, I still don't see why you think anyone was criticizing anyone!

If you're referring to the comment about us needing help on the defensinve side ot the ball, you can't honestly think that is a criticism. Please tell me the positions you think are so stacked as to say that we don't need additional depth.

We are light on the line, and don't have a lot of seasoned depth there. Same goes with our entire secondary. We lost some good players to injury, and we lose Rock, McCann, Hudman in our secondary. And those are just the ones that came to mind immediately.

No offense, but like others have said, this board is tame compared to lot of others. Saying we need to get better on D is a statement of fact, not a personal attack.

any comments about Mason and Jones claiming we had 3rd tier talent-that we now are getting 2nd tier talent and in coming years we hope to get some of the Top players in Texas. Plus Jones claims we had worse talent than the majority of our opponents. What's the difference between fans' comments and the coaching staff comments.

Some of us are grounded in reality while others apparently aren't...but I'm sure we already knew that.
