Chris Parks/Brandon Thornton Game Updates

Postby Stallion » Sun Aug 30, 2009 3:06 pm

Chris Parks made an interception of a last second Hail Mary pass to send Conroe and Klien Collins into overtime but Collins won in OT. Brandon Thornton had a 40 yard catch-I didn't know he played on offense-no details on tackles

Conroe bounced back last nite with a 33-6 victory. Defensive recruits Chris Parks and Brandon Thornton got a little offensive-Parks catching a 13 yard pass and Thorton catching a 6 yard pass. No defensive stats on Parks and Thornton but here's a video that includes Thornton who is No. 21 assisting on a tackle

Conroe beat cross town rival Conroe Oak Ridge 22-21 Thursday Nite. Brandon Thornton caught a 21 yard TD pass which were the winning points. Chris Parks subsequently recovered a fumble ended Oak Ridge's hopes.

Good review from opposing Coach John Outlaw from Lufkin on the play of Brandon Thornton in recent game

Q Was there any certain area in which Conroe's defense caused some problem for you?

A They've got athletes on their team. They've got the three Division I players, but Desmond Jones (defensive back) is one that people forgot about. He's got Division I ability. They just have some good players. Brandon Thornton (linebacker) was the kid who really put us in a bind because he could help stop the run and he would get in the passing line and I think it confused Bush (Smiley). But even when he's confused, he can still make plays with his feet. But when he has time to throw, he's going to make some good plays in the passing game. As an offensive line, we have to work on giving him that time.
