Will Conference Realignment Cause Pause for RecruitsIf there are recruits interested in our program, but fear we may be relagated to lower status becuase of conference moves/realignment, will this slow down the commitment process until the unknowns are known ?
Re: Will Conference Realignment Cause Pause for Recruits
No. We're going to come out of this thing with a really good hand... The sole export of Chuck Norris is pain
Re: Will Conference Realignment Cause Pause for Recruits
I was thinking along the lines of...our recruits who are also being recruited by baylor, mizzou, k state...may not be as likely to commit to those programs because of the uncertianty..which could greatly benefit us.
Re: Will Conference Realignment Cause Pause for RecruitsI agree clickclack
Re: Will Conference Realignment Cause Pause for Recruits
Yes, this makes sense. Those interested in SMU so far should not be deterred and those we are competing for with those schools may give us more interest. ![]() Go Ponies!!
Beat whoever it is we are playing!! @PonyGrad
Re: Will Conference Realignment Cause Pause for Recruitsjust remember those SEC teams are in our backyards, those Big 12 teams are at our front door but those PAC teams are thousands and thousands of miles away. Add in an even playing field with Baylor then I think it might be a tad more positive for SMU as long as the Aggies go to the PAC. I think this is going to make schools like Tech, OSU and even A&M stronger. I see this Division being among the very best in the Nation. This state is just loaded and each should be able to really load up on that Top Texas talent without much competition. Now if the Aggies go to the SEC maybe not

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Will Conference Realignment Cause Pause for RecruitsUnfortunately, if I were a recruit I would hesitate making any committment based on what was happening with realignments. I would want to know exactly what the expectations were and who was really going to be on the schedule when I was eligible to play and start 4 or 5 years from now. If I were going to be playing for SMU who was joining the newly aligned Big XII with TU, OU as the corner programs in the conference, then I would jump at a chance to sign. If; however, I were looking at a league with NTU, LA Tech, Rice, Tulane....etc. I would probably look elsewhere.
