Big Oklahoma WR likes Ponies

Postby Corso » Mon Mar 08, 2004 6:56 pm

Saw a blurb on Insiders that says SMU is one of the schools in the running for Edmond (North), Okla., WR Marquis Hamilton (6-3.5, 210, 4.55) -- who that website seems to think is the top WR prospect in the state. The only question seems to be his speed.

Bio:
The top wide receiver prospect in the state of Oklahoma in 2004.

Coach's Comments:
"There are a lot of receivers in high school that stand out mainly due to their ability to run the deep route," said Head Coach Bill Bays. "Marquis is a complete receiver that does everything on the field. I try not to tell him that to prevent him from getting a big head, but there is nothing that I can't ask him to do out there."

Scouting Report: Runs crisp routes and has good hands. Has the size coveted in a wide receiver, but must prove he has adequate speed to adjust to college football.

Schools of Interest:
Arkansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, SMU, Texas A&M and Tulsa. He reports having "medium" interest in each, and has not yet received any offers.
