The Sulphur Springs safety is getting major attention. According to Insiders, he is reporting "medium" interest in Arizona, Baylor, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Purdue, SMU, Texas and Texas Tech -- and says he's received offers from all of them extept UT. And he's good friends with Jonathan Lindley, and was at SMU's Junior Day.

He gets written up as one of the finest players in the state. If there's any way to get him to SMU, that would be huge. Sounds like he could be a stellar replacement once Alvin Nnabuife graduates.

This means Lindley's most important role (whether or not he plays this season) could be his ability to recruit his old teammate. Personally, I'd like to see Lindley (and all the freshmen) redshirt their first year, but I'd also like to see him get this guy to the Hilltop.

Insiders quotes Clayton (who they rank as the 15th-best player and top DB in Texas) as saying he'll probably go to camps at OU and UT. They also say he's interested in Arizona, Baylor, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Purdue, SMU, Texas and Texas Tech, with offers from all except UT.

For what it's worth, some of the folks who cover OU up here thing the Sooners have a huge lead for Clayton. Sure hope they're wrong. Or right - they can lead now, as long as we're leading in February.
