What happened to

Postby No Quarter » Tue May 17, 2011 9:02 pm

the big lineman from California who was recruited late last year? I don't remember the name but think he had been a highschool TE who projected as an OT. Might have been a stud but he failed to be admitted and there was a big discussion on these pages. Maybe he ended up going to Oregon or maybe a community college.

I never heard what happened to him. Can some one update us?

Hated to see him go. He signed with Oregon State.

Thanks Cadillac. The Oregon State website says he went to a commumity college in 2010 but did not play ball and enrolled at OSU for the winter quarter this year, participated in spring practice and is expected to earn playing time this year. He was a two year starter in HS.

If I recall correctly he ended up taking the same route that was offered to him at SMU.

If so then perhaps a desire to stay on the west coast was a the main factor, hurt feelings aside, although for all I know he may have been told that was the likely result at SMU long before the final announcement.

I doubt it, since he moved to dallas and was then told....

Yes. I did not mean to imply it was handled well but the decision was the right one. It just was made at the wrong time.

he should have been told before signing date what he needed to be admitted to SMU. The fact he was told so late is largely the result of him having to retake his SAT post signing date in the spring of his senior year and not being able to determine his his position on the NCAA Sliding scale until the end of his high school spring semester, Should have been expedited as soon as his transcript was complete and then informed within days. But there were legitimate reasons final decision was delayed

For the record, we don't know what the kid was told.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
