basketball recruiting

With the Fall commitment I believe that leaves us with two more spots to fill. According to Insiders, we have offers on the table to two uncommitted seniors: PF Kevin Rogers (SOC) and SF Gary Flowers (Lincoln). Assuming the best, that would give us three quality frontcourt players.

Bamba Fall – (2 stars Rivals and Insiders) Huge upside. He's a project but being 7’0” and able to run, he could develop into something special.

Kevin Rogers – (4 stars Rivals and Insiders) High-major prospect. Would be SMU's second highest rank recruit in the last twenty years. He would be a force in the middle, offensively and defensively. Looks like its coming down to us and Baylor.

Gary Flowers – (4 stars Rivals and 3 stars Insiders) High-major prospect. Not as highly ranked as Rogers but I think he could be just as good. He has triple-double skills and he’s a beast around the basket. There hasn’t been an update on him in a while but Insiders still lists us and K-State as his only offers.

Fall, Rogers and Flowers- what a fantastic class that would be.

It'd be great to get either Flowers or Rogers, much less both. If we did somehow get both, look out. We need size and I would love for at least two of the signees to be frontcourt players.

Scoops, is this dark horse you mention a highly rated player or more of an unknown?

I thought we were no longer in the running for Flowers.

Rogers would be HUGE.

On this "sleeper".... how big of a sleeper is it? Can you give us a national ranking and publication (top 200, top 100, top 25 etc)? And what are our odds?

That's what I thought, too.
But then, I don't follow hoops recruiting very closely, so I don't claim to know where we stand.

I have not heard Flowers name in a while. But, you never know with Coach T. He maintains a real calm "quiet" around everyone and likes it that way.
