My point is that, I don't understand how anyone can say McD is the better option, look at the stats. I could care a less about the TCU win this year, other than I am stoked we beat them. McD played well, but is KP not capable of doing that? People want to say JJ has been hurt the past couple of weeks...Kp was hurt with his ankle most of last season? How's it any different... The TCU team of this year isnt anywhere near the past couple of years. below 55% completion percentage. More INT's than TD's and hes our best option? Gotta be kidding me....

And this leads me to my final point with this team. WE NEED PLAYERS TO MAKE PLAYS...QB's cant throw for 400 yards without guys making catches, tough catches. RB's cant look good without the five guys up front...busting their @$$e$...we need the OL to protect. Our problems go far beyond the QB, both KP and McD, and in order for them to compete at their highest level, we need the guys around them to get on the same page and play!!

At this point in the season McD is our best option, he's been playing and getting the most practice reps the last 2 months. Do you see an injured, rusty Padron performing any better right now? I agree we need other players to step up, it seems that most of the remotely on-target throws McD has made the last 2 games (not that many) have been dropped and the blockers have kept him under duress far too often. As with QB, there are talent and performance issues with both units.

Best option, or only option? They have different meanings.....

McD is our best and only option for the remainder of this season. Padron is hurt, hasn't played since the A&M debacle and seems to have lost June's confidence. Kaiser is a redshirt freshman with no game experience that June didn't even want to play in a blowout. Neither seems like a remotely viable option to take the job from McD.

I'd add an edit to your response....Padron has lost confidence in Jones as well.....Jones is a fool for not playing either Kaiser or Preston in the 4th qtr of both blowouts. McD is the only choice and leaving him in when he sucks is risking further injury. He's bad enough now. Adding injury to the situation further compounds his lack of athleticism and accuracy.

Definitely agree with that, Kaiser should have seen some time in both blowouts (would like to see Preston stay redshirted). June missed out on a great opportunity to see what he could do in a game situation.

agree. given that JJMcD was hurt and we were getting blown out, would it have been such a bad thing to get Kaiser some real game experience?

i really don't get JJ sometimes. usually, there's a method to the madness, but i just don't get it.

method may be that Kaiser is terrible, otherwise no reason not to play him

Could he be as bad as McD was against USM and Tulsa? If McD had a season-ending injury against either team because of Jones not wanting to sub in the 4th qtr where we were clearly beat, where would the rest of the season be? In the hands of 2 Qbs who've never played a down of college football. Can you say 5-7?

BTW, I'll answer my own question. NO!

If Kaiser is really that good, expect him to transfer out at the end of the year, because he clearly is not going to get a shot at SMU. CP seems to be next in line after KP from what June has said in press conferences but does not want to burn his redshirt. June has shown he views Kaiser as no better than McD at his worst by not giving him a chance to play in either terrible blowout.

Not saying I think Kaiser is good or bad, but from his lack of playing time, it shows he may not be currently right for the R&S.
