Gilbert Martinez is a versatile player who saw time on both sides of the ball this year at Delta. Martinez caught 43 passes for 731 yards and 7 touchdowns. On defense he picked off 2 passes and was used on punt and kickoff returns as well. Martinez was named all Central Valley Conference as a receiver. Martinez' breakout game came against College of the Sequoias when he recorded 7 catches for 187 yards and 3 touchdowns.As part of Deltas wide open offense Martinez was Steve Wichmans deep threat and he showed he could make the big play when he got a chance.
