probably the two biggest names left on the SMU recruiting board both have visits scheduled this weekend to SMU Dallas Samuel's Cornell Tarrant and Scurry-Rosser's Phillip Burley. Both are rated 5.5 and have multiple BCS offers. Tarrant is reported to have high interest in A&M and is basically considering A&M, SMU, Kansas and Kansas St. Burley has reportedly narrowed list to Kansas, Missouri and Arizona and SMU. Anybody else know who else is coming in

Are the students back yet? If they aren't, what are these kids going to see? An empty campus???????

If I'm not mistaken, either this week or next week is rush week for the fraternities and sororities, with school starting next week. But faculty/staff are back in their offices, so recruits can meet teachers, etc., and see the campus, which of course is beautiful. (A few 70-degree days in January doesn't hurt, either.) In the case of Tarrant and Burley, that won't be a big surprise, of course, but if someone from north of the Red River was to show up (say that Hornback guy) .... could be an extra selling point.

I think "Pig Run" is this weekend...which should make for alot of fun for any recruits on campus. Who doesn't like to see a couple hundred sorority girls running through campus?

We used to sit behind Daniels dorm with rating cards as the sororities would come out to sing and chant to the rushees. Although Pig run is a bit of a misnomer. Many of those freshmen women are not "pigs".

they don't do it any more - it was degrading to the 'women', and it's at the end of rush, which would be next week, i think.
who knows (and more importantly, who cares) i quit trying to keep track of greek goings-on when i was a senior - at that point, i didn't want to hang out w/ a bunch of 18 year olds 6 years younger than me.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

It is in our favor that these guys are visiting together. Hopefully they can convince each other to come to SMU. Could be a big weekend for the Mustangs, the sorority girls can't hurt either.

But of course being in a sorority, with it's resultant being pumped full of fraternity booze and fondled on occasion, isn't....

How sad to hear about the end of a grand old tradition!

Rivals is reporting 6'3" 250 lbs defensive tackle/strongide DE decommitted to UTEP and will be visiting SMU this weekend.
Looks like it may be down between SMU and TCU (he visits on 1/13).
Rivals rated 2 Star 5.4 ranking

Hope these recruits like quiet time @ SMU.
Students are away and not a single SMU sport is playing on campus this weekend.
BRILLIANT!
