at least 5-6 Texas Aggie recruits are looking elsewhere. This is just my conclusion but they can't let the bleeding go on much longer. Early next week is my guess.

More than 5-6. There were that many Aggie commitments at our game against Tulane, according to someone who has access to such information.

Looks like Fran will be available either way...whether he resigns or is fired...either one may happen next week...thereby opening the way for several things to happen...Go Mustangs!!!

If we can land either Mike Shula or Gary Barnett, then these guys could get the attention of wavering A&M recruits. Texas, OU, LSU are full. Still I don't see us getting more than 1-2 if we get a name coach.
However, in CUSA 1 or 2 studs is the difference between winning and losing. Just like in high school.

Remember when SMU would get 3-5 State 100s under Rossley and Cavan?
I miss those days.
The new standard is 10 area 100s.

And where did those state 100s get us?
How is Marcus Mosley doing these days?

Cavan's guys got us over .500. We'd have stayed there if Malin hadn't cheated and killed all subsequent Cavan recruiting classes. Bennett had a couple of pretty good classes. The lesson is that you need those types of recruiting classes for several years in order to dig yourself out of the hole.

Ford ruined our recruiting efforts.

Care to explain why.

There isn't a "why". He's the king of sarcasm. His posts drip of it.

He inexplicably sees this unending repetition as "funny."

You have to have them on your team in order to keep them.

Took them less than 48 hours. News outlets reporting A&M has hired Mike Sherman to replace Franchione.

Reports on TexAgs.com indicate that Franchione was out several weeks ago and they were just negotiating numbers. Obviously, the Aggies have been working behind the scenes for awhile. I post this because some have made unfair claims that Franchione left those poor Aggies w/o aCoach for their bowl game. That's a very naive statement. They could care less about the bowl. Franchione was pushed out and A&M was concerned about promptly getting a new Coach to salvage recruiting-that's the name of the game.

^Stallion - any idea of the number of recruits that Fran & crew weren't able to offer 'ships to but might be able to bring along to SMU should that hire be made?
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
