Yeah I just found him. That is probably who he is talking about but he is not a 3 star on rivals.

He is on Scout though-a more accurate description of his recruitment is an alleged offer from Virginia (apparently last spring but apparently none of the Virginia recruiting sights have heard of him-and a few from the dregs of CUSA, the Southland and a few D-1-AA. But that's alright-I truly believe its perfectly fine to stand in line behind BCS schools for second tier recruits and when they fill up or move on to higher profile recruits you can get a pretty good recruit. Happens all the time. You probably aren't going to beat TCU, or BCS schools with those recruits though.

Virginia already has 22 commitments-how many can an academic school take every year-they were probably filled up

I'm pretty sure UVA was still actively recruiting him. His most recent update on Rivals was that he was planning a visit up there and the story was from July 27 so its fairly recent. Either way he sounds like a solid pickup.
Back off Warchild seriously.

He can't be any good. AK didn't recruit him, and AK is the only recruiter we have. And he's not from TX, so can't be good, oh, wait...

Let us see.

Actually I think Coach Reinebold was another coach that they mention that recruits goes after recruits. From what I gather from the comments is that his recruits are just sometimes too hit and miss. But he does go after them.

I think most are recruiting to be competitive in CUSA and not to compete with BCS schools. But if it is A. J. Justice I think he will be a very good player for us.

Welcome aboard A.j. Some of us are actually glad you chose to commit to SMU.

I've seen people on this board complain that the coaches have mailed it in on Texas recruiting. We get a kid from Houston to commit and you still complain.

Others say they are tired of seeing only two star recruits from Texas commit. Well A.J. Is rated 3* by Scout and is rated as the 63rd best safety in the country. That's not good enough.

Yet others argue that it doesn't matter how many stars a rating services gives a kid. All that matters is which other programs recruit the kid. This kid reports an offer from UVA--a member of an AQ conference. Rather than accept this, some of you seemingly mock this offer as just being reported and not substantiated.

Finally some of you complain that AK is our only recruiter. JR picked up this kid. So there should be no complaints there. Based on many of the gripes I have read here, I would assume people would be ok with this player. He appears to be solid using the arguments that many make on this board.

In closing I want any recruit who reads the crap that some of these guys post on this board to know that some of us actually want you here. If the coaches think highly enough of you to offer a scholarship and you want to come to SMU then by all means come on. It's ok to ignore these jerk offs.

65-75% of all TCU recruits for over a decade have had BCS offers-most have had a bunch. You set your standards as low as you want-I'll set mine

I am with you Stallion but I am also trying to see what the tendencies are on the current staff as well.

His Virginia offer was confirmed a couple of weeks ago. Nice pickup.
