4 or 5 QB'sWe need at least 4 or 5 QB's, because if we lose one game, that is totally unacceptable and we need a new QB!!!! If that new QB loses a game, the hell with him....bring in the next!!!!!!
Re: 4 or 5 QB's
lol...exactly.
Re: 4 or 5 QB's
Yep, June's recruiting at the position has been pathetic. Should have stockpiled his first few seasons so we'd have some [deleted] options now. They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: 4 or 5 QB'sIve said this before...I didn't think the switch from KP to McD was warranted...KP took us to two straight bowl games and to a conference championship. We didn't win it, but I don't think we were expected to be there either. Then gets pulled after two possessions against a team we weren't supposed to beat. I still dont agree with June's decision.
McD has beaten a mediocre TCU team this year, big win none the less, but our offense, not just our QB has been exposed the past couple weeks. We can not connect on down field passes, and the past two weeks our receivers have been under tighter coverage across the board forcing us to have to go down field. As shown today, we dont have enough time to run those plays (QB holding the ball too long, getting sacked) I don't think all of the blame should fall on McD. He didnt play well last week or today thats obvious, but our OL and WR havent done much either. Touchy subject when there shouldnt be. We got our butts whipped the past two weeks. McD should still be the guy and lets focus on winning? I agree with you, the calling of the QB's head needs to settle down a bit. QB gets too much credit when we win, and too much blame when we lose. Bottom line, its a team effort! Pony up!
Re: 4 or 5 QB'sI'm not calling for the QB's head. But in a blowout game like today, I wouldn't mind seeing a QB change to spark the offense. I thought by the 4th quarter, might have the chance to see what Kaiser had in mop up duty. Probably wouldn't have made a difference, since the OL were wearing skirts today.

Re: 4 or 5 QB'sAgreed my verbage was wrong, i wasnt suggesting everyone was calling for the QB's head. I would have liked to see someone else in there as well. There are some on here that I have noticed that try to pull the gun just on the QB a little too quickly. There's a lot more to it than just one guy...ultimate team sport! We just arent performing/ making enough plays on either side of the ball to be competitive which goes beyond McD bad play as of late. Granted, i do recognize he needs to play a lot better. 50% completion percentage or less, whatever it has been isnt going to get it done.
Re: 4 or 5 QB'sI pushed post too quickly....50 % completion percentage isnt going to get it done. But there are a lot of reasons for that, IE dropped balls by our receiver, OL not blocking, as well as bad throws. So it does go beyond just the play of one kid.
Re: 4 or 5 QB's
I agree. McD's play the last 2 weeks can't be any worse than Kaiser or Preston would produce. Really, a senior should complete more than 45% of his passes against the 112th rated pass defense. Having McD complete this game was a complete waste of a blow out. Kaiser or Preston should have played in the 4th qtr. Screw the RS idea. Jones blew Padron's RS the 7th game of the year in 09. What's the difference? Play for today. RS is over blown. When a kid can contribute...play him. You can always RS another year if needed.
Re: 4 or 5 QB'sI don't want a revolving door at QB either, but I don't understand how Jones could pull Kyle so quickly against a very tough team, but stick with McDermott given his poor performance over 2 full games against teams that we were much better match-ups.
Re: 4 or 5 QB'sAnd I know Kyle didn't make the trip, but would it have killed us to at least throw Kaiser out there today to get some game experience? Yeah, I hear guys say he hasn't looked that impressive in practice, but why the heck not give it a shot? Not like we could look that much worse than we did today.
Re: 4 or 5 QB's
Hoss, you hit the nail right on the head. There's more to Jones pulling KP than for the 2 picks. Much more.
Re: 4 or 5 QB'sI noticed that this team is 0-2 when Padron doesn't make the trip as a backup. Or I noticed that we lost our road games when we have to leave dfw. Road games have always been rough for us, no excuse not to show up for two road games in a row but we aren't there yet.
Re: 4 or 5 QB's
Padron had 20 starts and couldn't earn June's trust, I don't care how tough the team is, 2 picks in your first 4 throws is unacceptable especially when you've had months to prepare for the damn game. McD can't get yanked because there's no one behind him. He's the starter unless he gets hurt. They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: 4 or 5 QB's
21 starts to be exact, and he won 12. 57%. About what McD has won, only KP did it against bowl caliber teams, McD against NW St, Memphis, UTEP, a UCF team that UAB beat, and a TCU team that wasn't the 2nd ranked team in the country. Compare the 10 and 11 schedule. I think you'd see that 2010 is a vastly superior schedule. Kaiser should have played the 4th qtr Last edited by Gotcha on Sat Oct 29, 2011 11:43 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Re: 4 or 5 QB's
Every good player, and I mean EVERY good player gets rattled, so in my opinion, June pulled the trigger too quickly to take him out for the year. Not for that particular game, maybe, but for the year? Really? And given the 7 starts I've seen of JJ and the 20 from Kyle, I still believe Kyle is the better QB. He didn't make the last 2 trips because of an injury, but if he's not taking more snaps with the 1st team this week to at least be prepared to step in against Tulane if JJ is still this bad, then I don't get our QB strategy.
