Chris Hall commitsA little early, but okay...
Dallas Morning News: IRVING JUNIOR-TO-BE SELECTS SMU Irving offensive lineman Chris Hall, who will be a junior in the fall, has made on oral commitment to SMU. Hall (6-5, 285) said he made up his mind when visiting the campus with his brother Zach, a linebacker who will be a freshman for the Mustangs this fall. Oral commitments are nonbinding. Hall cannot sign a letter of intent until February 2005. Hope he doesn't change his mind....FOR TWO YEARS
Re: Chris Hall commitsWELCOME!!!I don't think we will have to worry about Wardog, I got a feeling he's a man of his word! Keep loading the stable!!! [deleted] kicking time is coming soon...to a stadium near you!!! Go Stangs!!!!
Re: Chris Hall commitsZach Hall is a pimp. I cant imagine what a monster he will be in two years!
Re: Chris Hall commitsHow highly rated is he? Four, Three, Two Star? All State, District, etc....Hopefully, he will be able to convince others to follow. Great News!!!!
Re: Chris Hall commitsI've never seen Irving High play. But I talked to a guy who goes to every game (his son plays for them) and he said Chris Hall already is an absolute monster. He said that in addition to being huge for a 10th grader, Chris "plays mean" and that he's still growing. He speculated that Chris could get as tall as 6'6" or even 6'7" and that he can still get a whole lot stronger - remember, he's only16 or so. He said that Chris absolutely dominates every defensive lineman he lines up against, and Irving HS plays in a pretty good district.
In short-yardage situations, he lines up next to Vincent Chase - and they just run people over. I'm going to try to get to a game or two this season to check them out. But the advance scouting report suggests that Chris is a beast - and still growing.
Re: Chris Hall commitsWow! Good stuff HorsePower.
SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four
2014-15 & 2016-17 AAC Men's Basketball Champs
Re: Chris Hall commitsNo kidding - impressive report!
(Can we suit him up this year? Maybe set up a deal where he takes a few classes at SMU to place out of some hours? I know, wishful thinking....)
Re: Chris Hall commitsChris Hall - welcome to SMU!
Re: Chris Hall commitsWhen discussing Chris Hall (a.k.a. Wardog) with Bobby and Vincent Chase's father, the younger Hall was described as "a man among boys". He went further to say that Chris has no idea of how good he could be because right now he basically walks out on the field and just starts flaying people (remember we're talking about his performance as a sophomore here).
What will really help Chris is getting to SMU and knocking heads with some bigger, stronger competition. I also look forward to getting to some Irving games this fall and seeing him play in person.
Re: Chris Hall commitsMe too! This kid sounds terrific. I'll be making a few pilgrimages to Ford Stadium every year, and I look forward to seeing this guy suit up for the Ponies.
Isn't this about the time for the TCU faithful to start claiming they had no interest in him?
Re: Chris Hall commitsChris Hall sounds like the kind of guy you build around - a huge, nasty blocker who I imagine likes planting guys up to the shoulder pads in the turf .... even fake turf.
Sounds like a good get by the coaches.
Re: Chris Hall commitsSounds like in a couple of years, Darrin Johnson, Kenard Burley, Justin Boren and Chris Hall should be the first guys off the bus. Talk about making a BIG impression.
Re: Chris Hall commitsThumper, dont forget caleb peveto and brian turner. They will be on the same bus. They can play.
Re: Chris Hall commitsGood point. I think those guys Thumper listed are our biggest - in terms of height AND weight - but there certainly are more. Chris Urbanus is 6'5" and up to 310 - he looks pretty imposing.
Bryan Turner isn't as tall as the others, but he sure looks tough. And I've also heard that Caleb Peveto might turn out to be one of the biggest surprise of this year's class. Supposedly he's real strong and has exceptional technique and footwork.
