Tristen Wallace reopens recruitment

Postby ponyinNC » Fri Mar 06, 2015 4:36 pm

It appears that he has decommitted from Texas Tech. If I recall, didn't both of his parents attend SMU?

And wasn't coach Mathis his HS coach?

Hmmmm

That was fast and also totally expected.

I'm curious as to why the high profile players keep turning down Tech after being committed for a few months. Aside from the obvious Tortilla Tech jokes, I wonder how they keep getting high level recruits to commit in the first place but then seem to scare them off. Tough road of KK and crew

"One school that could score a big win against the Power Five conferences is SMU. The Mustangs are contenders for three reasons. First, DeSoto is roughly a 20-minute drive from the SMU campus. Second, Wallace's old head coach, Claude Mathis, who saw enough potential in Wallace to make him a varsity player as a freshman, is SMU's new running backs coach. Lastly, the enthusiasm of the new coaching staff, led by head coach Chad Morris, has made SMU football an exciting topic of discussion around the Dallas area."

not even close-Texas can't take everybody-and they may find some one better-that's why they got bitched at for not getting Manziel, Jamesis Winston and Robert Griffin et al. They've already got 1 QB in that Class

Tech recruited him as an athlete not a qb. It reads like Texas is his top choice, but that probably more depends on what position they recruit him as and who else they take in their class.

Understandable, seeing that the article comes from Texas' scout site. Longhorn fans can't handle being told they aren't the greatest thing to happen to mankind :D

How restless do Tech fans get if they miss another bowl game? New D coordinator but still no D talent. QB questions continue.
