again Teague is not a Texas Top 100 but there are 5 reports on him. He's being focused on now because everybody and his dog is offering the kid-which is what a recruiting service should do. I guarantee you there are over 200 Texas kids with 5+ stories on them. Its a ridiculous statement to say that they just cover the "Top 50-60 recruits". But yes they don't cover players who are being recruited by Division 1AA schools. They DO have over 150+ recruits who have expressed interest in SMU-unfortunately too many are not Division 1A prospects. So I'd say they do a damn better job than any other source out there. This conspiracy theory stuff is just sour grapes.

There is something to the conspiracy theory, no doubt about it. I have a Rivals sub finally and I TCU finally having a legit site on their network is what broke me down. However, there is no doubt in my mind that many of the interviewers push their school and it is obvious that commits to UT and the bigger network schools get better treatment in rankings, stories, etc. But that is the crux of their business. They have to cater to big schools to survive, so I decided it was better to join than fight. As long as the writers don't go overboard, it is a plus.

SMU needs to try and get a presence on their network. I wish I knew the cost, but having someone call on the schools behalf sure pumps up the kids (most of them anyway). It is becoming almost a must, same as coaches with blackberry's and getting recruits IM address, etc. The NCAA made the field a little more equal by eliminating private charters, steak dinners, spotlights on videoboards, etc., so now the little things really count.

OK go search UT's commitment list and find out how many recruits don't have 10-20+ offers. If they don't its because UT finished recruiting before most schools started. Each and every recruit UT has would get 10+ nice Division 1A offers if he was availiable. That's why they are higher rated and that's why they get more attention.

Who cares...point of this thread was more to point out Haugabook and Johnson.

These kids are the type of QBs we need to lead the spread offense that Bennett wants. They have strong arms and wheels to get out of trouble.

for what's it worth. Cisco JC QB Marcus Johnson was named First Team QB and SWJCFC Player of the Year. They didn't list a 2nd Team QB but Danna was one of the Honorable Mentions.
