Amen. It took us 18 years to get back to being where we are and everyone on this board is suddenly ecstatic. Eighteen years to get from sucky to mediocre. Do I really have to endure another 18 years of being 5-6 before the changes get made to allow us to compete for the best of the second-tier players? (i.e., the players who go to second-tier schools, given that any top player worth being calld a top player is going to the BCS conferences). I can't stand it. Thank goodness for the Boulevard.

And me@smu wanted to know why I responded in the other thread the way I did...Geez.
Here is a "coherent" go at this, Stallion: Why do we care about this player? If it is another example of bad admission, fine. We get it (I do, anyway, and I suspect so does everybody else, despite your frustration that they don't). Next.
If we were in the running for this guy, well, I'd be unhappy. But we were not (I infer from what you didn't say), and I fail to see how we would know about him without violating some NCAA rule regarding recruitment of xfers. So, I ask one more time...why do we care about this player?

I would argue that we care about this player bc he is transfering to a school we directly compete with. I am always interested to know what players teams in CUSA are getting. Do I care when UT, USC, ND or Ohio St. get a good transfer? No- we don't compete with them. I am merely concerned with outrecruiting our direct competitors (CUSA teams and TCU).
We beat UofH this year in what I thought was a pretty big win on the road. I want it to stay that way. I like hearing about how our conference mates are doing and that is all Stallion posted. All this other [deleted] has come from people's pointless personal attacks on eachother.

Now, see...there ya go...a Sam Houston fan comes on here to post a little friendly 'smack' since we're all pretty excited about coming to Dallas to play the Mustangs...and ya gotta go and say something like that.
And, yes...we have QUANTUM mechanics of calculus at Sam Houston State...we even know how to spell it! (quantum, not qauntum)
Looks like I helped raise the IQ of this board with a little help in the spelling department for you, ponyplayer.
See ya Sept. 16th.

My wife graduated with a degree in education from Sam, so I know that you all are not dummies, but let's not kid each other...chances are, if a person is attending Sam in 2006, that person is majoring in one of three things...education, criminal justice, or failing out because they have spent far too much time screwing around instead of studying.
And quantum mechanics of Calculus? Please...when you guys start talking game theory and/or temporal mechanics, then you can return a "we are smarter than you are" jab.

Looking forward to seeing the Kats at Ford next season. Are you coming up for the game? If so you should be there good and early to see what an SMU tailgate on the Blvd is all about. It is fun stuff.
