Too bad. You missed history not watching the HP v Marshall game on TV. Curious: what's your reason for not watching high school games?
I have no allegiance to a Texas high school, and I find high school games boring, even games with great players like Stafford, Kindle .... whoever. Maybe I'd be more interested if I went to high school in Texas, but I didn't. I've been to several, and got nothing out of it.
"History"? There's a championship game every year, and some of them have lopsided scores, like that one. How was that game historic? HOORAY, BEER!
And there are lots of schools that haven't won it since ought whenever, so don't bring that up either. It is historic for you because you have long been associated with the area, I'm sure if my high school suddenly got good and won a state football championship I would be proud of it too.....

Historic in the fact that not many Div. 4-A schools have won the state championship with an UNDEFEATED season.
But I get your drift, abezontar and de-mented. However, I still think that you're missing out on some good football action. (Curious: what games did you attend that were 'boring'?) Football is football! Hell, I'll watch a Pee Wee or Pop Warner game just to see football! And whenever I attend a high school game - whether it's HP or Plano or Hutto or Kerrville or whomever, I always make it a point to wear the letters S.M.U.
Let's see .... I've been to games at Cistercian, Highland Park, Hillcrest, W.T. White, Roosevelt, Kimball, St. Mark's, Irving (when both Chase brothers played there, although I didn't know they were future Ponies), Jesuit, Arlington Bowie, FW Paschal (I know, some of them don't play at their campuses -- can't remember where the fields were). I had a girlfriend who taught in DISD and took me to some games to see her students, and I've gotten roped into these others over the years. It's not a bad thing, because like you said, football is football, which automatically means it's a good thing. But pretty much across the board, they were boring to watch. With the exception of Highland Park (Bill Foran) and St Mark's (Narovsky, or something like that), the QBs couldn't throw the ball, and the option-wing-veer-wishbone just doesn't remind you of the Jamelle Holloway-led Sooners when you have RBs who run 7-second 40s. I just greatly prefer SMU games and NFL games, that's all. HOORAY, BEER!
I honestly haven't watched high school football since I was in high school, my hometown team was horrible, and I believe they still are, I guess there wasn't a huge difference for me coming to SMU, except that since I chose to come to SMU I care more about the teams.
