Update on Texas No. 25 Thompson-says he has been offered by A&M, SMU and Bradley. Has made visits to Bradley and SMU(unofficial). Interest in SMUis based on Doherty. Favorites include those that offered plus Old Dominion who says they may offer soo and Clemson. Described as 6-10 but phsically weak Texas Hoops calls him an intriguing prospect who has a long and wiry frame but with skills and agility-very good shot blocker, runs floor well, nice mid range jumper, keeps ball high on offensive rebounds Sounds like a kid with a lot of upside potential.

Sounds like the kind of player who could really shine with good coaching -- like, say, Doherty-style coaching.

Update on Texas No. 12 D'Walyn Roberts-doesn't look like SMU is in the race as he mentions that Texas Tech leads and he also is considering Baylor and Nebraska-hopes to make his decision by early November.

We have a shot at the No. 25 player in Texas, the kid from North Hollywood, California and I've heard second hand rumors of a big Nigerian or African kid who I don't know too much about but seems to havev some legitimate interest from some schools. I'm really concerned that despite Doherty's salesmanship ability which I admire SMU is really getting itself into a long term rebuilding stage if he insists on recruiting 7 high school freshman-he didn't seem so concerned about recruiting only high school players at his previous coaching gig

Hey I just noticed that I had listed No. 13 as Ronnie Morris from North Crowley-it actually Ronnie Moss and he has since transferred to a Prep School in Maine named Bridgeton-didn't mention if he still had interest in SMU but he listed others schools at the top of his list including Nebraska and UTEP

once again you try to sneak a low blow on me and my friends point it out to me.. you really have to let that go.. big deal i was too lazy to spend more than 5 mins trying to find his name and I don't waste my money on rivals.com.. last i checked this morning you threw a low blow to ponyfans.com b/c someone stated an opinion that the big 10 was the best conference in the nation.. since you are a lawyer i will use a fact on you..
were you not quoted as saying:
"Really! this(ponyfans.com) is the most INACCURATE site for coverage of SMU sports that exists in the world. Its like a new dimension where reality is suspended."

From my perspective, he is interested in only high school players and it's going to be a long road unless he pulls out the next Fab Five....He said in an email that Juco's are at Juco's b/c they are academic risks (or something to that effect)...

I'll remind everybody that Florida Atlantic signed 5 JUCOs last year-4 of which I believe committed while Doherty was still coach and one shortly thereafter. Ask yourself-after our experience over the last 18 years-why do Coaches like Bennett from Kansas St and other stops and Doherty from Florida Atlantic make these pronouncements about the dreaded JUCO player(and for that matter Division 1A Transfers) when their track record is so obviously the opposite?

They are obviously told not to do so and it's not in our model ..how about that
