I really hope those are slick moves.
as Darrell Royal used to say about Ricky Wesson "he's just like a little waterbug"-which makes him slick too. BTW he's small but I'd say he's not a smurf from looking at him-I bet he's a legitimate 5-10. I noticed in an unverfied nearlier report they had him at 5-11 so I wouldn't be surprised if he's bigger than 5-10. Sometimes when they list at 5-10 you get 5-6 but I don't think that's the case here.
On Friday Nite October 13 Jamell Kenedy had a 55 yard TD on a "quick pass" he took the distance including a 360 spin-he did the same thing on his Rivals highlites. Not sure about other possible stats. Gilmer won 49-7. That's at least 4 50+ plays in three games I've found info on-pretty good considering this is a new position.
Friday October 20. Jamell makes PRIME-TIME! G.J. Kinne and Kennedy were highlighted on Friday Nite Prep Extra on Fox Sports and included highlites of TD catches of about 12 yards and 52 yards in Gilmer 63-7 win. Again Kennedy has about at least 5 50 plus TDs in 4 weeks I believe. That show airs on Saturday morning too. Should be about :40 minutes into the hour show.
Update on Kennedy's performance on October 20th. Kennedy had 4 TDs-3 catches and and a reverse. The TD catches were for 57, 33 and 9 yards. The reverse end around went 67 yards. He also had at least another 2 catches one of which went for 21 yards and a key first down. Kennedy finished with 5 catches for 121 yards and the 4 TDs plus 4 carries for 88 yards. You know Curtis Brown his teammate is considered one of the best WRs in the country and just got named to the US Army All-American Game but Kennedy in the last few weeks is making some big plays. I'd say with the spotlight on Gilmer this year as the No. 1 team in Class 3A SMU may have really got a good commitment from Kennedy before he started transitioning into his new position at WR. With the spotlight so intencse on Kinne(Baylor signee) and Brown, SMU may have some competition for this kid when recruiters start wondering who that No. 5 kid is.
...He's VERY similar to Emmanuel Sanders from what I can see, both were used all over the field before settling in at receiver (I'm not even sure if Sanders settled in at receiver, he played ALL OVER the field), but based on what Im seeing, this looks like an excellent recruit
Re: ...Hope you're right. Can't have enough guys like Sanders. "It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses."
... "Hit it."
I found a cite that I believe has season stats on Kennedy-but I'm not sure 100% they are up to date. This site says he has 21 catches for 447 yards and 6 TDs an average of 21.3 yards per catch. He also has 29 carries for 205 yards and 1 TD. BTW he has a better yards per catch average than UT recruit Curtis Brown who is rated as the No. 3 WR in the country.
