Also, just to be clear, Recruiting Roundup is the in-depth, never to be equaled coverage of Mustang Football recruiting that PonyPride and SmooPower put together for PonyFans.com every year. Player interviews, high school coach interviews, interviews with Phil, photos and stats... we got it all. SMU calls their event "National Signing Day 2007" and will be held at the Radisson Central on Feb 7 at 5:15. Make sure to RSVP to Hayley Shalley at 214.768.2582 or
You guys do a great job. When can we expect the roundup...up?
Wouldn't he be the second-highest rated post-DP recruit (after Mosley)?
Come on, De'Von, it's time to be a Mustang!
.......Actually, I believe offensive lineman Sterling Harris, who last played and started in 2003, was a 4 star recruit with scholarship offers from just about everybody. He was the highest ranked high school player to sign with SMU post DP.

Vincent Chase was the Rival's #1 TE in Texas and 5th in the nation. Wasn't he a 4 star but got downgraded when he signed with SMU?

Many thanks. Should be up late Wednesday night (will write during the basketball game), or for those who actually want to be coherent at work Thursday, first thing Thursday morning.
FYI: the Roundup will be a little different this year, in that the interviews likely will be limited to players and Coach Bennett. My "other" job has limited the amount of time I've been able to spend this year chasing HS coaches. But I'm going to jump through fire -- that's just a figure of speech, MiamiMustang .... no actual jumping through fire -- to make sure I interview everyone in the class by Signing Day.

And I probably speak for all of us when I say that it's MUCH, MUCH, MUCH appreciated!

Ditto.
Nobody covers the Ponies and SMU recruiting like you do, and as a proud PonyFan, I'm extremely grateful that you do what you do.
Now quit that other job and do this full-time by next year's Signing Day, OK?
