I really liked this kid in the MNW v SLC game. I didn't know that he decommitted from UNT but hope JJ gets after him.
98.4, what kind of system is that?

Thermometer I think. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
This young man can flat out play.
He is always flying all over the field making plays. I think sometimes everyone gets caught up in workout numbers, height, weight etc. The question is- Can this guy play? From what I've seen of him I would say absolutely. He would be a great addition to our program & hopefully he could bring other Dragons with him.
okay, just got off the phone with a friend in Southlake who has a son who starts for them.
He says Tomlin was the best player on their team the last two years, and that includes better than Dodge, Newton, Cantu, and dozen other D-1 recruits they've had the past two years. he said he thinks Tomlin will earn a scholarship within a year if he walks on at A&M....but he'd probably be interested in SMU....said Air Force, Duke, Stanford are recruiting him but he wants to stay in Texas....even said that OU talked to their coach (Wasson?) about him (Wasson's son plays for OU?) but they don't have any schollies left. he said Todd Dodge is just sick he got away, but probably figured he would...says he's too smart for UNT!!!
Oh yeah I forgot the word is he is walking on at A&M probably as a SS. There was plenty of posts about him on TexAgs.com last week. He might not be a bad prospect for SMU to take a chance on if the Coaches truly feel he has the speed to play SS. SMU will have to take a few chances in this class anyway.
While we are over in Southlake we might as well look at Chris Brainard. He may not be the fastest WR but he has tremendous hands.
Safety....LB....who cares? If he's versatile enough to do either, he's more valuable. And with all the spread offenses we face, you're in the nickel 2/3 of the time anyway. Looking at his vid, he's a dynamite blitzer and playmaker....I'm told 5 fumble or interception returns for TDs last year, and I saw one against Miami Northwestern at Ford this year.
a Rocky Schwartz type from UH.
Tomlin is a good kid and a great player. He was the heart and soul of the Carroll defense. He really wants to be an Aggie and really wants to play in the Big 12 and I think he is going to take a shot.
And two words for those who get caught in the trap of just looking at size and speed....JOE PAWELEK He was not supposed to be big enough or fast enough but all he did was make plays at Smithson Valley and now that is all he is doing for Baylor. Heart and Smarts don't always show up on paper.
That's ok. SMU has more than its share of potential diamonds in the rough. We are actually on the poster that promotes them. I would, for a change, like to start out with some appropriate size and speed kids. We can mop up with the hidden heart kids. If you wish to keep listing the small players that made it big, I will counter with 100 players that were big and fast and lived up to their expectations. In other words with all due respect to Justin Rogers, I want him as a finished product rather than a work in process. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
