That would be the third SMU commitment, that also had an offer from NTS.

Maybe he's a good player - sure hope so.
Weird - as of this afternoon, neither "recruiting service" showed any other offers for him.

Texas Football lists Darius as a Best of the Rest on their Top 300 list. Along with OL Wayne Frazier this give SMU 7 players off this list. Keep up the great work coaches!

I trust the coaches. If they went after him I'm sure he can play. Good info Ponymon.

This is the kind of recruiting battle we must constantly win over UNT. It just has to be that way. He's an interesting looking prospect.

Any recruiting "battle" we should win against UNT... That being said, hopefully we will soon be recruiting way out of UNT's league

This young man is for real. He was the only junior starter for Hightowers high powered offense, playing with 3 senior WRs who all signed DI scholarships, was voted offensive MVP by his teammates. His stats are deceiving due to the talent level of receivers last year and distribution but he still lead the team in TDs for the year. He's a perfect fit for Coach Jones' system. Stay tuned...

I heard the similar things. Hightower is loaded from my understanding. I also heard the play another loaded team the first game of the year in Eisenhower. That should be a knock down drag out battle. We are glad to have Darius coming to SMU.

Interesting. Hightower had receivers sign with Boston College, Northwestern and Houston last year and another to West Texas A&M. All made the Houston Chronicle Top 110 in Greater Houston.

Darius was voted Offensive MVP as a junior with those guys around? This kid will probably get a lot of offers by the time it's all over

Good catch Stallion.
By my count, that makes six 3-star players (earning stars from one recruiting service or the other) giving us their verbal, with the rest not really being rated yet...
