I may get slaughtered for this, but I would say that SMU has the least best looking girls of the other two Texas schools mentioned. And they're high maintenance.

That's a great attitude - screw anyone who wants to play in a big stadium. I want the kids who have offers to play in big nice BCS stadiums...let's work hard to get them past this perceived negative which, if we're going to be going after BCS caliber kids, it's going to be a consideration. In the past it wasn't since we were just competing against the UL-Monroe's of the world for kids. Hopefully we can add another 10,000+ seats someday and offset some of the negative.
I am glad that you are willing to PONYUP the $15 million to put those empty seats in. Until we start having sellouts, it would just be a waste of good money that would be better spent on an indoor practice facility, Moody, and a new natatorium. But if you have the money to throw away, go ahead!

So you'd go Baylor or Iowa State. Why?
Because I'm a 3-star guy getting a shot to play in the spotlight of the Big 12.
you mean 3-star getting shot.... no waco for me!

I agree with you...the question was asked how a hypothetical recruit views SMU and I gave him an anecdote. Don't be insecure that we've got a small stadium, it's reality. I happen to love Ford but compared to Kyle Field, it's small.

I can assure you the uniform color and logo does not have any impact on a recruit's decision...

Ford Stadium is a beautiful place to play and undoubtedly this facility and the message of support from donors saved our program.
Can you imagine the Cavin - Bennett years (something like 11) sitting in that dump called the Cotton Bowl. We would have died. The program would have literally died and support would be nil.
But because of a beautiful stadium, located close to our fan base we still were able to keep the hard core fan. That facility allowed us to at least recruit decent players that - if they had been well coached - probably could have had a winning season or 2.
All SMU needs to do is win, draw 32,000 screaming fans to Ford and all will be right with the program. Recruits will go to the game and see enthusiasm instead of a morgue. (I just can't imagine what recruits thought last season when the team was hapless and the fans non existent)
We will not compete with the top 1/2 of the Big 12 but we certainly can with the bottom 1/2 - if we win.

Most of Cavan's career was in the Cotton Bowl.
