I don't think SMU has ever announced-at least in the last 10 years-any signings on signing date. Whenever there are multiple signings they wait until the entire fall class is signed and put out a press release announcing the full class.

Mike Dement liked to get the word out as soon as possible, he got fairly irritated if SMU didnt put out at least a press release as soon as players signed. He wanted it in the papers the next day, if not sooner. Most coaches seem to want the announcement out quickly, but not everyone is the same.

I have no idea if JO signed today, or not, but I will say that just because we havent heard yet doesnt mean he didnt. I can say with all certainty that all 3 of the women's team commitments signed today, but it's not on the schools web page or the DMN page, yet. Perhaps it will be tomorrow. Coach Rompola didnt get the last NLI over the fax until 5:30 in the evening, so there was a little delay in releasing the news.

If he signed, we'll hear in the next few days. Since JO pretty much makes up the entire class by himself, there's no need to wait for anyone else. If he didnt sign, there's not really anything we can do about it, so stewing wont help.

It was in this morning's DMN.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

You completely missed the point.

But since you have run a Division I college basketball program in the past and know how this stuff works, I'd like your analysis as to how this will be successful.

You don't have to start with realigning ourselves in Dallas because we've walked down that road so many times that before that we already know the program has to do better there.

You also don't have to move to the Crum Center because we already know what kind of recruiting tool it can be.

So if you can go beyond those two points, we'd all like to know your "wisdom".

Truly remarkable stuff!

How many players did you expect Doh to sign, given he has one, maybe two ships?
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.”- Jalen Jones

Had I been at a computer earlier, I would have let you guys known this. JO signed this afternoon. I found out a couple of hours ago from a good source and would have posted had I been near a computer.
