I mean this with a whole lot of respect, So Cal. I really do. But you come across as probably the most kneejerk, pessimistic, underinformed guy on this board. Pessimism is understandable given our recent past, but as least have a minimal level of knowledge to back it up.

Surely you're not of the opinion that this isn't a solid effort by JJ? Perfect, no. But solid given where we are right now.

We hope he's eligible. Otherwise chalk RB up to a thin position as well. Butler and who else?

Ponyboy Shut up and let people speak and think for themselves. Yesterday you were apparently introduced to Darius Johnson for the first time so I don't think you should talking about misinformed posters. I'm happy all the guys at the Mustang Club and June got you in such a tissy about the recruiting class but believe it or not there might be some knowledgeable people that just might believe otherwise. And DON"T CALL HIM SURELY

I was talking to So Cal. If you disagree and find the man to be informed and his opinions valid, please provide some evidence to that effect. Otherwise you shut the hell up yourself.

Hey Ponyboy,

I have been following SMU athletics closely for over 35 years now. I think I have a pretty good understanding of what’s going on. You call me Kneejerk; that is laughable, I have predicted SMU’s failures for the past 20 years; although I do think things are finally changing around here. You call me Negative; you should have seen me during the Pony Express days.

Hoop Fan brings up a valid point, the seemingly lack of urgency. I happen to agree with him, and as I humorously posted, it is not something unique to JJ, we should have been focusing more on JCs years ago, not only in FB but BB as well.

As I posted earlier, I am OK with this class, but was hoping for more.

And really classy move telling someone to shut the hell up…

He has told me to shut up at least four times now, including once in this very thread above, with no reponse from me whatsoever. He got much less than he deserves as he's an egotistical, condescending a s s.

Regarding your original post, it did not indicate to me that you were OK with this class. But thanks for correcting me.

I have problem with those who want to squelch the voice of dissenters on this board. This is a place for everyone's opinion, good or bad. Even if you're not okay with this class, you're still okay to post it.

The class looks solid, especially for a 1 win team. The lineman will help and give us a lot of depth. The D-backs should compete right away.

The D-Line and linebackers on this team as a whole are a little questionable. It would have been nice to see some big D-Tackles but they are tough to come by. Switching to a 3-4 base will help hide some deficiencies in this area.

Very astute observation. What gave it away, 2-22 over two seasons or giving up 2,700 yards per game?

I agree. But please don't tell me that free speech rules mean we have to agree with everyone's opinions and that we cannot tell them our reasons for disagreement. This is a forum for discussion, right?

Now, now, let's play nice. Come on join hands and sing kumaya. After all Obama is now President and JJ is our coach. Change we can believe in, right?

I agree with Hoops- We were at best a good TAAPS team on defense last year and 1 year of aging and lifting cant make a huge difference. We needed 5 defensive JUCOS atleast. We need to win next year! Doubt JJ will stick around after contract is up so we need to expedite this thing. Great class though!!

Ponyboy is one of the most passive, peaceful guys I have ever known. He's like Ghandi. Perhaps we need to grab the McCallan bottle and go flyfish.

I've seen ponyboy's picture in flyfishing gear. Wondered what he was hiding in the basket.
