Wow, this is really exciting. What I like is that this boy is HUGE ... about double the size of his fellow linemen ... Rivals has him at 295 but the video says he's 322(!!!) ... either way he looks like he can move around pretty well too. This just made my day/week.

Go Ponies!

I believe we will hang on to him as well when other offers come to him. Congratulations to the coaching staff for landing this young man, in spite of some other issues that were in the media. This day could be a major turning point for our program.

Is this the earliest commitment we have ever received?

Good job coaches. Let's get some more!

Very good pick up for JJ and staff. His dad (also Michael) is the HC at Van Vleck and was an asst/recruiting coordinator at Fort Bend Marshall previously. Michael has played against some talent before they moved and had a good season last year.

He did lose about 20 lbs last off season to make hinself quicker so the 305 is about right and he is extremely strong.

Stallion: In another thread you opined about your "pied piper" theory, to wit: you get a great one and some other great ones will follow. In your opinion, does this commitment fall into the pied piper category ? If so, I hope your theory holds true !!

As I said on PonyPride. I just hope we do not have another 1-11 season or these kind of guys are not going to stick around...

Kind of a catch 22 area is it not .. you need good players to have a major inprovement.

several of those games last year were very winnable - we threw them away at the end. that can't happen this year. plus hopefully BLM will be (a lot?) better with a year under his belt.

Hey Friarwolf, the kid has been rated in the top 100 in Texas. By the way, did you ever hear of a kid from Sealy, let's see hmmm...Eric something or other
