StangEsq, you make a good point with "How stupid would it be for them to heap false praise on our program while we're in the midst of losing our first 7 games by a combined score of 237-83? It would make them look not only like homers, but also dumbasses."
However, I've got to agree that while there's no need for those guys to shamelessly plug the program as being a bowl-bound juggernaut, (like ESPN does with its talk of hardwood greatness in Fort Worth, despite the skidmark that has been TCU's season this year), there's also no reason for them to shamelessly rip the Ponies when they haven't covered a single even at SMU in .... forever maybe?
Fine, if the afternoon jerks don't feel the need to praise the Ponies, they certainly don't have to. As you pointed out, the ratings books dictate the idea that they're nearly bulletproof over there, or so it would seem. But with so many sheep out there listening to those ignoramuses every afternoon, i have to think that there are just a few folks who have considered going to (OR LISTENING TO) an SMU game but don't because of those nay-sayers.
Do like Momma says: If you don't have something nice to say .... shut up. Believe it or not, they are hurting the station by costing it additional potential listeners.
