"“It went all right, but I really don’t see that being where I end up. I didn’t really like it a whole lot. It just didn’t seem like the right place for me. I’m pretty sure that SMU will be in my future plans.â€"
Did anybody else notice that he contradicted himself in this statement? He started out by saying that SMU is not where he will end up, and then he says SMU will be in his future plans.
Is that a typo?
I hope he ends up at SMU, because his speed is ridiculous.
GO 'STANGS!

Don't get me wrong -- I'm not saying Little Massey can't play. But being a sprinter doesn't make you a great player. But I have two words for you, Hilltopper: Alexander Wright.

gee, a high school senior who is not sure what he wants to do next year. What a shocker! Or maybe he does know that he doesn't want to be at SMU and run the risk of playing in his big brother's shadow. After all, Richuel did say he's coming in here to break Dickerson's records, right?

Maybe he saw tough workouts going on? A lot probably depends on how much Richuel likes it at SMU. Bennett has the same tough task of keeping the young guys motivated while they aren't getting a lot of PT on a team whose record won't be too good for a year or two.

OldPony's exactly right - if Richuel enjoys his first year at SMU, he could be a better salesman for our program than any coach at any school.
Hang in there on this guy. I gather he's worth the wait.
"It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses." ... "Hit it."

Remember, there's a reason Jerry Bennett is viewed as the Godfather of East Texas recruiting. Don't give up on the man just yet. He has a way of building relationships with guys. I'd say this isn't over yet.

I think it has very little to do with Richuel and everything to do with how our passing game fares this year. If Bartel really comes out strong and sparks the offense, Bennett will have something to actually sell DJ.

Not a bad point, but I think Richuel's happiness will remain a factor. Say Richuel is unhappy - because of playing time, the weather in dallas, a girl .... whatever - he could end SMU's chances of landing his brother.

Ranked #79 in State by SuperPrep.

That doesn't sound good for us.
Even if ATurf is sort of like grass (or at least a lot closer than most artificial surfaces).
