I like the question of "will he stay a RB at SMU?"

:hmm: Maybe he can play QB or TE?!!?

Sorry, I couldn't resist. :whistling:

Andrew McKinney ran for 136 yards on only 19 carries(7+ ypc) in Decatur's 33-3 victory over Lake Dallas while clinching the district title.

Every week, Stallion gives us updates on this guy. And while the discussions of putting someone with his athleticism at TE or LB or DE are intriguing, it sounds like he might be too productive to move.

well he is playing 3A ball so he should put up some numbers. But he's playing in a passing offense and doesn't get the 30+ carries you see with some of the top recruits. I bet he has about 1,200 yards plus another 300 or so pass receiving. What I'd like to do is keep him at FB and you might have a Mark Pierce type who plays at Arkansas-it would be a nice point of attack addition for Henderson and Massey plus a threat out of the backfield both running and receiving.

Adrian Peterson also plays 3A and appears to get his share of acclaim. Also, there was a pretty good player named Eric Dickerson that played 2A ball and was one of the most acclaimed recruits of all time!

yeah but both those guys probably ran for 2200+ rather than 1200 and both were the No. 1 recruits in the nation.

for some reason Andrew McKinney only carried the ball 4 times for 32 yards(8.0 ypc) in last nights 48-12 victory by Decatur over Venus. Perhaps they called off the Dogs since Decatur was winning 34-0 at halftime but that didn't stop their prolific QB from passing for 340 yards on 23 of 32 passing. Hope he didn't get hurt because he generally carries the ball at least 15 or so times a game
