By the way Michael Carter was a thrower, not a sprinter.

I am not saying that it wouldn't BENEFIT smu to SOME degree, but we haven't have any "WORLD CLASS" Sprinters playing football since the late 70s-80s.
The sprinters that have helped the 'track team' with points helped, but didn't make them competitive with BU or ARK or TCU for that matter.
Like I said, it could hurt, but isn't likely to make much difference.
Now, having SAID that, I'd would prefer to have a full-blown commitment to the TRACK side of T&F to encourage MORE of the 70/80s-type sprinters to play fb also, but not the lazy commitment we had over the past 10 years.

FYI, Jamaal Charles,RB, Port Arthur, one of Texas HS top sprinters, states in Rivals.com that track will have an impact where he attends school. Do you think that this will affect SMU? I do!

GoRedGoBlue is a mindless idiot when it comes to suckin up to the administration's point of view. Look the fact is the loss of the Football team will WITHOUT QUESTION hurt football recruiting-now the issue is the extent of the damage. But it is rare over the years when we did not recruit and/or sign at a minimum of 2-3 track athletes per year who expressed an interest in running track.

Ikus, Think real hard and you might be able to figure out what Stallion meant to say. If not, maybe you can get someone to help you.
Are you old enough to be on this board?

Gosh, I hope so .... since I'm also hoping to retire soon.
I knew exactly what he meant. But for someone who presents his opinions as iron-clad facts, I just found that little slip-up funny.

Baker says he has not yet been offered by SMU. He says Baylor has offered, and that SMU and Oklahoma State have told him they might offer soon. We'll see.
