To put it frankly, I am sick and tired of people posting about 'surprises' and 'mystery recruits' on this board. It does not matter what player may come here because one player does not make a team. SMU needs far more than one player to turn around the mess they created for over ten years. It appears that this 'surprise' will be as reliable as the garbage that the coaches were telling us about Alexander Webb transfering to SMU. I also am still waiting for the several players that want to transfer to SMU from large state universities. I will believe it when I see the player on the field. I, along with countless others, are sick and tired of talk regarding SMU sports. Show me results on the field or drop down to Division 1-AA or Division II.

Well, Johnny, here is a thought for you.......if you are tired of talk regarding SMU sports........don't come to a SMU sports forum.
Problem solved. dumb@$$.

Dear Johnny:
During these dog days of summer the coaches and real fans are still working and thinking of better things for SMU. I am also tired of the losing.
As far as a surprise person to come to SMU. I do not know the name. I too will believe it when I see the man show up on the field.
One person will not totally change the team but one key person at a position that is thin ( in a few ways ) will help greatly.

I agree with the previous post. If you don't like what is written... Don't read it. If you read it and don't like it - I guess that says a lot about your disgust with our past record.

The coaches are working hard and the players are busting their [deleted]. With wins it will become easier, but as a fan... at this time of year we are dreaming of a good season. Get it... Be Positive!

If you want to focus on change... write Dr. Turner and Copeland with specific ideas. I and others do!

If you don't even know this alleged surprise recruit's name, why would you even bring up this BS? Sounds like whatever excitement you're trying to propogate is based on a bunch of lousy hearsay. Give us some substance or just let it be....

Well said, jtstang. As I have stated countless times on this board, I do not post 'sunshine' messages on this board about SMU sports. I post it as I see it. Many of you interpret what I say as negative. I think that my posts are realistic and reality and if reality is negative then that is not my fault. I find it humorous that I am ill received on this board. Do not take your frustrations out on me. Take them out on Turner and Copeland. Many of you cannot because you are too busy kissing their behinds everytime you see them. And to ponydawg....sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me, especially coming from a kiss-up as yourself. How does Copeland's butt taste ponydawg? And to Bus....it appears as if a coach told you about a 'mystery' transfer a while ago. Question: when was the last time SMU received a good transfer from either a JUCO or another four year college? I cannot think of any so do not get too excited by the coaches 'rah rah' speeches.

I suppose it would depend on your definition of "good", but Luke Johnson from Air Force turned out to be a pretty damn good player and I think Foy Munlin from Texas Tech might want to have a conversation with you concerning how "good" he is.

The coaches can not - and do not - talk about any potential transfers until he is enrolled at school. I've never seen a quote from any coach about Webb.

Little Johnny-
A) first of all show me where i have ever kissed up to copeland, turner, or any other smu higher up....
B) I have no problems with what you are saying about the team, some of your statements are very true, and some of your statements seem like you just want to stir things up, both of which are fine by me.......the summer is to long without football and I enjoy the entertainment (beats working).
C) My only point was with your coment about "I, along with countless others, are sick and tired of talk regarding SMU sports." ----that is just stupid to post on a SMU Sports Forum. If this was a forum about the Cowboys, Mavs, Ballet, whatever....then your sentence would make sense. It would be like watching the weather channel and getting mad because they won't stop talking about the weather.
