On the other hand, one thing that might work against the Seminoles is the fact that they signed two very highly-touted QBs in February. Assuming at least one (and maybe both) sit out as redshirts, if Stafford has visions of playing a lot, he might want to look elsewhere. The run/pass QB that FSU signed was supposed to challenge for the starting role THIS year.

Stafford has the mentality and the skills to go to a top 5 program. He will expect all the perks that go along with it as well. The best thing he can do for HP and SMU is be the lightning rod for a group or outstanding athletes he plays with. Names like John Callahan (who plays like Roy Williams), Fred Rousey at LB, Jarrett Karrington WR(probably 6'4" by senior year), Jake Feldt RB, and a host of others with serious D-1 skills. Like 2001 when 13 players went to the next level(5-D1) there is a ton of talent in Stafford's class. Maybe the most ever to date......

Which Roy Williams does the Callahan kid play like: the Dallas safety or the Detroit WR? (As long as he doesn't play like the UNC hoops coach...) Either way, that's extremely lofty praise.

So these guys are all junior this season?

Maybe once Coach Burns starts lighting up the sky with footballs, Matt & other QB's will give us a serious look.

Highland Park is profiled today on page 7C of the Dallas Morning News. There is a picture of Matt Stafford as well as tackle Reid Prince and running back Jake Feldt.

How big is that tackle?
Is he a D-I prospect?

It looks like this guy will be able to play anywhere he wants to. Yes, it's a pipedream to think he might stay home and play for SMU...but you have to wonder who will be the 1st national top 100 recruit to sign with SMU since the death penalty? Or will it ever happen again? Was Marcus Mosley rated in the national top 100 or was he just a highly rated player in Texas? I know Vincent Chase was well thought of, but he didn't make any national list that I can recall. I'm sure one of you recruitniks must know.

For the record: WEBB is out of FB, and where is FORAN? Div1AA?
