Also, I asked Terrance if SMU had stayed in touch since he committed to SMU, and he said he never heard anything else from SMU after he committed until they found out that he visited Houston, then SMU started calling again.

Nice! Great job, coaches. Every businessman on this board has seen the breakdown of why customers (in this case recruits) don't come back...
a small pct: competition
another small pct: went someplace closer
another small pct: just faded away
Largest pct (63%): Some degree of perceived indifference on the part of the business or an employee (in this case, SMU and/or its coaches).
I guess that solidifies that we've lost the kid. Can we delete the Ganaway game stats thread if so?

All I'm going to say is that staffs that get outworked in recruiting get beat on Saturdays. Todd Graham has been outworking this entire SMU staff for years in the Metroplex. Now we got Todd Dodge a natorious stickler for long hours and hard work who will be going after the same prospects. Not a good sign. Maybe instead of having Phil meet with Jimmy Johnson on his [deleted] sailing the Caribbean they should have him over at Moody talking with Coach Doherty. He's been in Florida, California, Conneticutt, Georgia, Detroit, Kentucky et al.

You lost me, could you clarify?
Where all the people that were espousing Phil's great recruiting prowess during the great debate last month? Show me the results. The other side is doing a good job of proving their point. I'm just mad we have to suffer through another year of this crap. Is there any positive recruiting news coming out of Ford? Isn't signing day in a month or so?

And I just received my Mustang Club renewal letter asking me to up my donation...bad timing.
The letter also incorrectly states that we were bowl eligible for the first time since 1984.

I posted tonite 3 very significant recruits plus another JC kid with 3 Division 1A offers-poor Stallion never gets credit for posting positive recruiting news.

We should have put a plasma pacifier in his mouth with a wireless audio/video feed to Coach Bennett's office. What a pile of [deleted]... our coaches should be out recruiting other players to help make the team better, not having to babysit committed players to make sure they honor their commitments.

No wonder SMU is losing recruits.

No. How long does it take to call, email, write the kid a letter saying "Great game on Friday, looking forward to seeing you in Red and Blue next year", a whole 2 seconds? I know they have other stuff going on but come on.
I met Doherty at a football game and talked to him for about 1 minute about how I could contribute to the program. Tuesday at work I received a hand written letter from him saying lets make something happen. It was a little 2 sentence letter that he scribbled down in 2 seconds, but it made a huge impression on me and got me excited about doing what i could. Doherty is great at what he does, the b-ball team is going to the dance in 3 years or less.

I thought Cory Muse decommitted from Okie St. to play here.

He did.
Ryan Wolcott committed to Texas Tech before changing his commitment to come to SMU.
Darrin Johnson de-committed from Texas A&M to come to SMU (after initially committing to the Ponies).
