The assistants simply aren't pulling their weight. A more than disappointing Junior Day and and a handful of offers in Texas indicates one thing, the position coaches are taking advantage of June's loyalty and sitting on their butts! They are taking advantage of the situation. Except for Klemm, who has recruited a starter? Like it or not June was winning with Bennett's recruits, not his owns staff's.

Mexmustang-the head coach authorizes offers. Assistant Coaches follow direction. This was a June Jones strategy.

Not saying I totally disagree with you, but it's fair to point out the following (all info via Rivals):

D. Johnson - Reinebold
M. Frazier - Odum
S. Moore - Odum
K. Padron - Morrison
M. Loftus - Morrison/Gansz
R. Crawford - Odum
K. Holman - Suan
J. Sorrell - Odum
B. Thornton - Odum
J. Fontana (not playing now, but obviously had/has talent to be starting if healthy) - Reinebold

Mexmustang, maybe you can provide a list of all the starters that Klemm recruited so we can compare?

Give him the same amount of time on the Hilltop and then let's compare. It is ridiculous that on April 15th we had only 9 offers in Texas out, today I believe 11. There a couple of coaches without any starters (three I believe), since they arrived? Weren't a number of these you have listed indentified and recruted at June's camps? Seems like a team effort at that point. And very late in the year for Texas' top recruits. Have you seen the comments from SMU HS coaches, pretty critical. I hope I am wrong, but I believe this years effort is not there. I don't feel that we've abandoned Texas, just not doing our jobs.

Story time.

A nearly broke, unsuccessful Alaskan gold miner from one of the country's richest mining areas takes a few days off to visit his sister in California. While out and about, he amazingly stumbles across an enormous find right there in the California gold country, a mine that will allow him to live a king's life for the rest of his days. He refuses to sell the newfound gold and make his fortune. The reason? His mine back home in Alaska is in one of richest mining areas.

It's one guy doing the heavy lifting. That's not a good tactic. We need several strong recruiters on staff. What happens if Klemm takes another job, hypothetically speaking? We're up sh*t creek without much of a paddle losing our primary, ace recruiter who is using his personal contacts and inroads to great success in California.

Here's another story.

A group of Spartan warriors is absoutely getting their butts kicked. Hercules comes along and the tables turn. The Spartans now begin to slay the competition. A war analyst then happens along and comments on what a bad tactic it is to have a single badass warrior in your army.

Yep, totally applicable to our situation. I humbly bow down before such an impressive story and withdraw all concern I've ever had on the subject.

Here's a hypothetical story:

Klemm takes an OL Coach position with a Pac-12 school that includes a hefty raise and allows him to maintain the same recruiting grounds. SMU is then left with an entire staff of older, seasoned, NFL-centric white guys who don't much love hitting the trail, and the inroads and relationships Klemm built to sell kids on SMU on an individual level take a huge hit because he's no longer employed by SMU.

Lol, touche. Nice job.

Klemm was responsible for six and a half players in the last class. Reinebold had six. The fact is we have better traction outside of Texas right now. That's not the recruiters' fault, is it?

It's the last remaining publicly allowable racism. Don't deprive him of it.
