(actually Greenbauer discussion was on Scout). The Triple Jumps by JMarcus (in March) and Colbert (a junior) aren't bad. The 400 Meter times by Jesse Montgomery should be very competitive in the state 3A track meet. I'm not a big fan though of football recruits running 400 Meters-if they really had elite speed for football they would run the sprints. Braylon Hyder's throws are significant mainly because they show continued improvement for a Junior. Most of the Relay kids aren't even the top sprinters at their school because they are relagated to competiting in Relays not as point scorers in the indidual 100 Meter or 200 Meter....

yep, anything longer than a 200M and I'm a little suspicious of their speed and "quickness". That being said, Jesse Montgomery is tall and lanky. Hopefully, he just hasn't grown into his body and will get faster/quicker as he fills out. If a kid's 5'8" and running the 400 b/c that's the only event he can compete in, I'm worried

I'd take Michael Johnson at wideout

Michael Johnson probably could have run a 10.1 100m in his prime. I'd take him

he won the World Championship many times in a sprint-the 200 Meters and by the way held the record in the University 100 Meters at the Texas Relays for many years with a 10.13. He barely lost to Derrick Florence (a National 100 Meters recordholder) and SMU great Roy Martin at the state championship. He physically grew into a 200/400 Meters kid at Baylor. He first excelled in the 200 Meters

Never forget that upright running style. He looked so goofy. But man could he run.

Jessie Montgomery qualified for the State 3A Track Championships with a Silver in the 800 Meters with a time of 1:58:40. Surprisingly, he was not among the Top 3 in best event the 400 Meters

None of the Lamar kids qualified for the State 5A Track Meet. The Regionals were delayed 2 days due to heavy rains in Houston area

Colbert fouled 3 straight attempts in the Triple Jump
Lancaster and Walker did not finish in the 4 x 100 Meter Relay
Walker (running in Finals only) finished 6th in 4 x 400 Meter relay
Braylon Hyder finished 14th in Discus with 132'11"
