Or where the school is located, with exception of really cold places. Every school has hot girls and party favors.

2014-15 & 2016-17 AAC Men's Basketball Champs
Re: John Tyler DB Isaac WarrenThis is convoluted, but for those that do not understand how a high school senior might think he could enjoy a small town, do the following. Download snapchat, follow Doitforstate. It will take a little bit to refresh their feed, so check back in awhile.
State in that instance is Iowa State. Doitforstate is a collection short videos of random people primarily in Ames Iowa (but gone national now) doing crazy stuff. If they can have that much fun in Ames I guarantee they can have fun in Lubbock. Not everyone wants to go to high end restaurants and fancy bars so smaller college towns do appeal to some. Oh yeah, do not watch the thread at work, on a work phone that is monitored, in a house of worship, in front of young children or really at all. Of course, I would never watch this I just heard about it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Re: John Tyler DB Isaac WarrenSorry, should have clarified, I personally don't understand why someone would want to go to Lubbock. I am not a recruit, didn't mean for everyone to get butthurt and start making fun of fancy restaurants around our campus. 4 years is plenty of time to get a Raider Ra$h.
I know how recruits think, which is why I would choose ASU over TECH. "We're not a hurry-up no-huddle offense, we're a hurry-up no-huddle football team and program. It's gonna start with our secretaries, its gonna resonate with maintenance department, everyone, they're gonna understand what 'tempo' is all about."
Re: John Tyler DB Isaac WarrenFor me, it was about going to a top university in a big city where there were plentiful job opportunities (internships and networking while in school) and very easy to get in and out of (I didn't want to be wasting my time flying into a major hub and then dragging my [deleted] for hours in a car out to the middle of nowhere).
Different perspective than top athletic recruits though I'm sure. Of course, someone should tell these guys that SMU has plenty of pro football hall of famers and NFL owners/GMs if that's what they are looking for (THEIR post college employment goal).
Re: John Tyler DB Isaac WarrenThere are many football recruits who understand you can get all those things and also spend 4 years in a good place. Neither they, their parents, their coach or friends have been shown what we have to offer in 7 years.
for those that have a bit of effort to offer, they will leave with an excellent job and career. Tech…..not so much.
Re: John Tyler DB Isaac WarrenMost of the kids that play ball think their future job is the NFL or NBA. Most don't care how many spots SMU is ahead of Tech in the USA today rankings.
Re: John Tyler DB Isaac Warrenthats correct. and 95% of them are wrong Some are smart enough to know it matters. Not enough.
Re: John Tyler DB Isaac WarrenPlus - its about 300 spots, so yeah…..that matters.
Re: John Tyler DB Isaac Warren
Not to 95% of them.
Re: John Tyler DB Isaac Warren
I think that's what I just said/posted. So, you spin it to SMU's advantage: we have owners and GMs in the NFL and LB speaks for himself re the NBA. Would be interesting to see which school has more owners/GMs in the NFL. Unfortunately, Hunt passed but does his family still own the Chiefs? That would be 2 owners I know about for sure. And at least 2 SMU alums are NFL GMs. Then, of course, there's Bease and Sterling Moore on the Cowboys. That's got to help. Always spin to your strengths. SMU has many.
Re: John Tyler DB Isaac WarrenMost Div 1 schools and many others have positive characteristics for their programs. When it gets right down to it though it is about the personal relationships involved...between the coaches and players along with those who can influence those players. Do the coaches treat the 105th guy on the roster with the same respect as the #1 player on the roster? That 105th player might have a good friend in his hometown who is next years #1 recruit! That list includes mom and dad, high school coaches and teachers and many others. All the other stuff, facilities, restaurants, pro teams, future jobs are just extras. That is why the staff is so important and why they need to be out in the communities in Texas.
Re: John Tyler DB Isaac Warren
Ok...are these alumni in town this weekend, at the ECU game, meeting the recruits? Have they been utilized in a quick video that espouses the great impact SMU had on their careers...ahem...where they choose the next talent coming out of college to make the NFL, NBA, etc? Having those names is nice...I want them on campus meeting the players and recruits so when one decides to go home and ends up picking another school, he has already told his buddies about it and they get more interested. Recruiting is politics...press that flesh and kiss those babies!
