Boise State is an outlier, many more programs recruit marginal players and are mediocre every season. If we had a coaching staff like Boise State (those guys routinely kicked June's [deleted] up and down the field when he was at Hawaii) it would be a lot easier trust their recruiting. Keep in mind that we haven't been able to win an average mid major league with marginal recruits, doesn't compute that we'll be able to win a much tougher league going forward with the same caliber of recruit.

One thing about it is that this year June will not have anymore Bennett players on the team. The entire O Line and some WR's were Bennett players last year so for those who say trust the coaches, we will find out this year how well June and staff have recruited as the proof will be in the pudding with an all June recruited team. Should make for an interesting year.

Let's remember that recruiting to Hawaii is tough. You're a 5 hour flight from the nearest hot beds of recruiting therefore very expensive, so yes JJ had a tougher time recruiting than Boise did. But Boise's point is well taken. It's not that we take shots on under radar guys, it's more that we haven't racked up many 4*s. But I think we led CUSA in three star kids last year, Yes? And some of our 2*s were upgraded by the end of their senior years.

From the "horse's mouth's"--yes, these kids are Rhodes scholars compared to Hawaii and also high character kids that by and large not in need of a second or third chance.

"As reported today by ESPN... SMU better pick up the pace on BE recruiting as UCF has.

The Knights have beat out bigger schools to secure commitments from three coveted recruits.

High School teammates Seyvon Lowery (Jacksonville, Fla./First Coast) and D.J. Killings (Jacksonville, Fla./First Coast) both chose UCF over offers from BCS Programs. Lowery had scholarship offers from Cincinnati, FIU, Kentucky, North Carolina and Ole Miss while Killings held offers from Georgia Southern, Kentucky, Minnesota, South Florida, Vanderbilt and West Virginia.

Signal-caller Justin Holman (Stone Mountain, Ga./Stephenson) also picked the Knights over offers from BCS Programs. Arizona State, Furman, Marshall, Missouri, North Carolina State, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest offered the 6-foot-3, 180-pounder as well.

Central Florida now has six commitments for the Class of 2013."
