Bottom line - there are many reasons why folks think SMU people are snobby - but this post isn't one of them. Drive down fraternity/sorority row and look at the cars in the parking lots. THAT is why SMU gets branded as a rich, snobby playground. No, OSU fans are pr!cks because forty years ago three guys in a bar got together and said "You know what, let's cal it THE Ohio State University every single time." Now, every one of those pr!cks calls it that, and it makes them, collectively, insufferable.
A hundred times this.

Rich and snobby is not good when recruiting inner city kids as LB has said because SMU has the perception of being prejudice. And LB said that other programs use that (prejudice) perception against us in recruiting. It is not good to have a perception that the only reason that inner city kids are wanted here is to play sports. Being perceive as rich is fine but being perceived as snobby is not good.
I agree that being perceived as rich is okay but being perceives as snobby is not okay.

Agree on this, but the post above was referring to Ok. State, not Ohio State. Either way, both the "The Ohio State University" and the "U" comments are ridiculous.

Its a joke, one person said Ohio State and the other said Oklahoma State so i said Oregon State. You might be the most sensitive person on this board or you just have the worst sense of humor.
