One would hope that his up bringing has a very positive Christian influence and that his criminal act was not fully comensurate with the real person. Also, his father's ministry and minister status might be given special consideration making him a PK ( preacher's kid; old term from my day) and afforded special consideration for admission in accordance with long standing SMU policy.

Continuing with my original thought and thinking outside the window. If Turner were a PK he could enjoy a no pay tuition situation at SMU, attend as a regular student and be invited as a perferred walk-on. This way all interests are protected. Turner plays football, tuition is handled by an endowment not associated with atletics and the Athletic Department takes no heat for his admission.

PKs don't have no-pay situations.

There is no way a Preacher's Kid is an exception under NCAA Rules. Any scholarship would count under NCAA scholarship limitations. I too believe the story will hit every opponent's message board in hours, probably be a regional story and make it to national sports related news sites.

I remember very well the comments on this board during the time that LT played in Fort Worth. Texas Criminal University was the cry. There have been similar remarks passed about players at Switzer's OU and at Miami (Florida) under several coaches. In a general way, if not a very specific one, I imagine the sports fans comments were also those of the administration. I doubt the powers that be at SMU will permit the enrollment of this player.

I couldn't get enough Lee Nailon beats his girlfriend cheers in
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.”- Jalen Jones

Thanks for the information. Times have changed since my time at SMU when PKs from any domination could be eligible for special tuition awards. My understanding was that it was full tuition at that time. As late as 1995 the minister of the Presbyterian Church that I attend had both kids at SMU because of the tuition benefit which I understood at that time was full tuition. One was headed to theology school. With this background I was seeking to find a way for Turner to be admitted as a general admission student and the Athletic Department to be a beneficiary.

That kid has serious talent! The video is ridiculous. I trust JJ to make the right decision on this situation.....if we offer, I hope he accepts.

At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Just imagine him prior to the knee with 4.3 speed?

this kid is not slow-I see people talking about him losing stamnia on long runs-i see him setting up blockers. Again he's not playing the Greenhill Schools or Farmersville High School-he's competing in the Top Juco Conference in the Country in a State that produces over 130 Division 1A JUCO prospects a year. Speed is not his liability-its his asset and he is especially dangerous in the open field. 355 yards from scrimmage in his last Playoff Game against one of the Top JUCOs in California tells you all you need to know. Another little tidbit in addition to dominating in the running game-he had about 220 yards in pass receptions in the last few games
