Pete Fleps is a 6-2, 205-pound LB who has been timed from 4.55-4.7 in the 40. He's not the most physically imposing kid in the world, but he can play. He's a little like Dat Nguyen - he's considered "too small" but has made tons of tackles. I think he had 16 and 17 in consecutive weeks earlier this season. I don't know if he has the "measurables" to score a scholarship, but he makes plays all game long.

Sounds like a Bennett-style LB. If he can run, he can get away with being a little undersized. We need more LBs with some speed and a nose for the ball. This guy sounds like he might be one.

Does Southlake inflate its players' numbers, like some other schools do? Or are those numbers accurate?

Fleps is a heck of a player. Given our lack of depth at LB, I'd take a flyer on him, even at his size.

Good job digging that up, Stallion. Sounds like he's bulked up since then.

he was a 2 time all-district player-I think he led Southlake in tackles his senior year and I think he may have gotten at least some mention on an All State team-can't remember if it was First Second or Third Team. However, he wasn't highly recruited-not sure if even SMU offered last year-I think he was a guy we were looking at with one of our last scholarships.
