Weight: 185
40 time: 4.53
Bench: 290
Clean: 250
From: Dallas (Carter), Texas

Carl Taylor was named first team all-district as a junior despite missing half the season with a dislocated elbow. He totaled 553 yards rushing and six touchdowns on 60 carries. Taylor is up to six offers now, including one from SEC powerhouse Tennessee.

This season, Taylor has rushed for 330 yards and four touchdowns for 4-1 Carter. He now has written offers from Tennessee, Duke, SMU, TCU, Minnesota and Louisiana-Monroe.

"Tennessee is my leader," said Taylor. "After them I like Minnesota and then I'd say TCU and SMU are tied for third. I like Duke because they are so great academically. But, they are known for being a basketball school. I also have interest in Texas, Texas A&M, and Kansas State in the Big 12.

"A&M is after me heavily right now but they haven't offered. SMU and Minnesota have been calling a lot. Tennessee has probably called three times this month."

Taylor descibes his skills on the field. "I am a power runner with a lot of agility and speed. I am a combo back."

He carries a 3.6 core GPA. He would like to major in business.

Carter takes on Dallas Molina High School this Friday.

I'm sure someone will tell us this report is meaningless, but it looks like the guy has good size and decent speed. And anyone with written offers from Tennessee and Minnesota must have considerable potential. How that potential pans out remains to be seen, but it sounds like this guy has ability.

Don't mean to be pessimistic on this guy, I'm glad we are on his list, but it looks like we are pretty far down on his list.

Hopefully Coach Bennett and staff can pull a rabbit.

Sounds like he will choose betwen SMU and TCU if he sustains a major knee injury this year.
