Safety K.J. EllisSMU appears to have a good shot at this kid who was a teammate of Fred Turner at Arlington Lamar. He says he's 6-2,201 but measured 6-0, 188 at Rivals camp. He ran only a 4.68 at the Rivals camp which I think is suspect because he seems to be still getting a lot of attention-and he wouldn't if he really ran a 4.68. He claims offers from Colorado and Colorado St but then lists SMU as one of his favorites stating I'm also looking at SMU quite a bit. I really like their coaches. I think they are getting things in place there". Also has been receiving contact from Bay, Kansas St. A&M, and BYU.
Am I right that this is a guy who plays OLB in HS but projects as a safety at the next level?
And in his defense, was that the same Rivals camp that several players have said was held on a wet field, slowing a lot of 40 times?
it seems as if the OLM times may have been due to a soggy field as they aren't too far off, but Rivals just did a report on Carl Taylor that said he "ran a 4.69 Forty in a driving rainstorm". They usually run all the backs, LM etc in groups according to position.
Insiders says he's set his first official visit to Colorado.
He reports high interest in Colorado and SMU, medium interest in Baylor, Colorado State and Utah. He also says his dad really likes TCU and SMU. Rise up, Mustang Nation!
Go SMU!
