Arlington Lamar's K.J. Ellis (6-1, 200, 4.65), who projects as a safety and/or linebacker, says he has high interest (according to Insiders) in both Colorado and SMU, as well as medium interest in Utah, Colorado State and Baylor.
Off that list, Colorad is the only school that's offered him a scholarship, Insiders says he's one of the better prospects in the country (No. 48 safety prospect in the country) -- and we haven't offered him? He has a visit scheduled to Boulder, but not yet to SMU (official, anyway - I can only assume he's been here many times on an unofficial).
Is SMU planning to offer this guy?

yes but only if he writes a term paper on "Why he rather go to SMU than a Big 12 School" and begs for admission before a committee of the Faculty Senate. I think we got a great shot-don't you? Now can we please get back to which IDIOT should be fired next?

here is what he says:
Colorado is still his lone offer. "They offered me back at the beginning of June and have been recruiting me hard ever since."
Despite the fact that Colorado is his only offer, Ellis is not ready to call them the uncontested leader. "I like Baylor, SMU, Utah, Colorado, and Colorado State. If I were to name a favorite it would be SMU or Colorado."
His parents would not mind him staying in the Lone Star State for his schooling. "My Dad really likes TCU and he also like SMU."

Based on what I've read, I'd like to see him come to SMU. But we need to extend that offer! Aren't Nnabuife and Harper both going to be seniors next year? We need to start grooming some new safeties.

Must be waiting to hear back from all those other 3 star safties with offers from the Big 12 who we like more than him huh?
Maybe there is a grades issue?

Ellis has been offered - as a LB, I think.
Sounds like another Wilton McCray - fast and tough, albeit a bit undersized.
Rise up, Mustang Nation!
Go SMU!

Insiders has an update on K.J. Ellis. Says New Mexico offered him last week, giving him three: UNM, Colorado and SMU. He said he doesn't have a leader, and will take all his visits. He'll visit Colorado 12/11, SMU 1/7/05 and UNM 1/14/05. UNM is visiting him tonight, and SMU will be in his home next Monday.
Ellis (100 tackles, three sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 INT) said Colorado State and Washington State are coming down to meet him, and that Colorado State and SMU are showing the most interest.
