what's the story with the Grapevine DE ? Is he still interested in SMU? DMN says he's 6'4" 270 lbs. That's a big boy for a DE. Are we still in on this guy and has anyone seen him play?i

Kansas the favorite-the other two teams which he says are recruiting him the hardest are Oklahoma St, and Texas Tech. No mention of SMU in most recent report on 11/18.

I've read several reports that say Warner (who is still considering SMU .... I think) projects as a DT at the next level. He's not quite quick enough to play DE, and having added 30 pounds in the last year or so, the expectation is that he'll carry even more weight before he's through growing.

I'm not in DFW anymore, so I can't claim to have seen this Warner guy play. So this isn't a shot at him. But if the speculation that we're going to go the JUCO route is true, I would think DT is one position where we should. Physical strength is more than simply how much a guy can bench, and if we could add a 21-year-old (or two of them), I'd think that would help immensely on the interior d-line.

We need both - stop gap for next year, and RS a fresman for later.

You got that right. We need two DT's from recruiting and two to play next year that are JUCO.
12 to 16 BIG MEN.
