Tulane Gets Committment From Texas Defensive End
By TI Staff Report
Date: Dec 12, 2004

I had a great visit. I like New Orleans. I like the city a lot. We ate at some great restaurants. I got to see the school - the Business School's great! I liked the campus. It just felt right. I felt right about making the decision right then."

Defensive end Sean Carney, the 6-foot, 240-pounder from Jesuit High School in Dallas, Texas verbally committed to the Tulane Green Wave during his official visit this weekend.

Here's what Carney had to say this evening about his decision. "I committed today. I had a great visit. I like New Orleans. I like the city a lot. We ate at some great restaurants. I got to see the school - the Business School's great! I liked the campus. It just felt right. I felt right about making the decision right then."

Sean continued: "I told the other schools - Rice, SMU, Harvard and Baylor - today."

Thats scary, because Sean said just last week that Tulane got on him real late. I also know we were after him for a long time.

Tulane did get in on him late. I don't know about you, but when I was 18, I bet I could be impressed by a weekend in New Orleans, too. It's a fun town. I'm keeping Sean in mind when I think about the fact that it's nearly two months until signing day.

Interesting difference: rivals has said he's as tall as 6-4, insiders says in that story that he's 6-0. Last I heard (from someone who actually has met him), he's nearly 6-3. For whatever that's worth.
